My husband can cook - Mussles pasta

Assalamualaikum.

Suka tak makan kupang? 
Percaya tak cik baru pandai makan kupang ni sejak balik ke Malaysia means around 2 yrs ago..gurai hehe.
Masa tinggal di Batu Pahat, selalu nampak org jual bawah payung tepi jalan. Sebab sang suami gemar kupang, ada juga la beli sekali sekala. Tapi tak pandai nak masak la...pernah sekali makan kat ikan bakar Melaka, kupang masam manis kot. Sedappp sangat..sejak tu baru suka jatuh cinta ngan kupang.Padan la kan peribahasa melayu kita tu, tak kenal maka tak cinta ye dak?

Last night menu dinner kami pun inspired by kupang.Nampak ada jual kupang kat Aeon Big, beli jugak la sekantung dalam Rm 8.Ok ke tak agaknye harga tu eh? Sebab jarang beli jadi tak tahu.Teringin nye pasal beli jugak la huhu.

Actually kalau beli kupang memang tak masak lain, mesti buat pasta je. Sebab tak reti ye kawan-kawan.Kesian tak? So nak share resepi mussles pasta kami refer kat allrecipes.com and adjusted sikit by us.




Ingredients:

  • Pasta - cook according to package
  • Kupang - sekantung sesuka hati
  • Butter - 3 table spoon
  • Onion - 1/2 biji chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves minced
  • Dried thyme - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Parsley - 6 tablespoon chopped (takde so ganti dengan chopped coriander leaves)
  • Bay leaf - 1 (takde so tak letak)
  • White wine - 2 cups (ganti dengan carbonated white grape juice)

Method
  1. Cuci kupang. Discard those that do not close when you handle them and any with broken shells.( What the heck..about 50% of kupang yang kami beli already open. Takkan nak buang, makan saje :)
  2. Cook pasta according to package.Drain and reserve.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large skillet place 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, onion, garlic, parsley, bay leaf, thyme and grape juice. Bring to a boil and lower heat; cook for 2 minutes. 
  4. Add mussels; cover and cook just until they open, 3 to 4 minutes. Do not overcook.
  5. Divide pasta into bowls and spoon mussels over noodles.
  6. Strain mussel liquid, and return to pot. Add remaining butter or margarine and heat until it melts. Pour over mussels and serve.
  7. Kalau suka, tambah perahan lemon dan parutan cheese.

Review :

The recipe is easy to follow. Siap masak less than half an hour. Grape juice buat rasa hanyir kupang hilang, and tambah rasa manis so be careful not to over adding unless you really love masakan manis. Definitely will use the recipe again!

Oh almost forgot to mentioned, credit to sang suami since he was the chef of the night. Cik tukang makan je kali ni hehe. Well done suami!!
